Without a doubt, this is the most flexible (and capable) network monitoring tool to be had--at any reasonable price. ...may not compete head-to-head with some high-end packages, such as HP OpenView or CiscoWorks, but provides excellent monitoring with an extensive range of probes. Intermapper does excellent graphing, and includes alert systems that integrate Web serving, e-mail and pager gateways,
telnet access, and cross-platform services using Intermapper Remote--runs an Solaris, BSD, Linux, Mac OS 9 and OS X, and Windows. The developer, Dartware, is agressively supporting the packages and actively-developing the tools. Superb support.
This is an indispensible part of our network management and monitoring system. Highly recommended.

InterMapper is Great

The product is superb. I think of it as an active Visio, and leave the alerting to OpenView. Very affordable. I use it constantly.
