MacTheRipper Publisher's Description:
MacTheRipper is a DVD extractor for MacOS X. It removes CSS encryption, Macrovision protection, sets the disc's region to '0' for region-free, and has the ability to disable RCE region checking. It does not depend on the drive to retrieve the keys to unlock the DVD, so therefore, it is unnecessary to play the DVD with DVD Player to unlock it, making it easier to backup DVDs from other regions. It also copies DVDs with ARccOS copy protection.
* Greatly improved UOPs disabling code, now much less of a chance of making an unplayable DVD, and more effective
* Improved prescanning code for speed and compatibility, should now work with more titles.
What's new in this version:
* This time it really fixes the bug in the new UOPs disabling code
* Fixes an obscure bug where a file called Glass.snd in the home/Library/Sounds folder on some users' systems could cause MTR (Mac The Ripper) to crash.

I downloaded the software, and within 30 minutes was ripping my first DVD. No problems at all. What perfect shareware.

MTR no longer functions

While trying to rip a DVD from a rental store for travelling, all I got was error messages. This is on a MBP with no region yet set.
Should I have set a default region first?
Otherwise, things are looking bad.

This is not a review, actually this is a question!!!
I’m burning some DVDs using MacTheRipper and sometimes it works GREAT and sometimes it doesn’t work so well!!!!......with some DVDs I’m having problems with the sound, when I’m watching the recorded DVD the sound breaks in a lot of parts of the movie. Can anyone here help me with that???
