MenuCalendarClock for iCal Publisher's Description:
MenuCalendarClock displays a monthly calendar view in a drawer when the user clicks the calendar icon in the menu bar.
Tooltips show iCal events and to do items. A double click on a day opens that day in iCal.
The clock is highly configurable and can display both date and time.
Release versions support English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Catalan, Italian, Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish, Simplified Chinese and Japanese user interfaces.
Basic features are free, advanced features require registration.
Latest release version and MenuCalendarClock for Entourage also available from the Objectpark web site.
What's new in this version:
* Fixed bug: Tasks are now correctly sorted by priority, due date, title or calendar, according to the respective preference in iCal. MCC will refelct changes to the sort ordering in iCal after a restart (of MCC). Due to technical reasons, manual sorting is currently not supported.
* Fixed bug: The Edit menu was unresposive. Fixed.
* Improved: Saving a task now shows the task list, if it was hidden.
* New: Undo in Task Inspector

Very nice time/date/calendar

This is a very nice program for displaying the time, day of week, date of month and year (if you wish) on the menu bar. Click on it to show a calendar. It's free for basic functionality, which is all I need. (Costs if you want birthday reminder and iCal support, I think.) The only hassle was I wanted "Sep 03" to show as "Sep 3" -- there were no examples, so I had to guess that "%e" means drop the leading zero.
