PsyScope X

PsyScope X Publisher's Description:
PsyScope is a program to design and run psychological experiments, used by many experimental labs. It can create programs handling text, movies, sounds, and images, and at the same time collect participants' responses during the presentation of the experiments. It has been developed at Carnegie Mellon for Mac OS 9 in the '90s. Thanks to its creators, its code is now public, under the GNU GPL license. It has been ported to OS X by the SISSA Language, Cognition and Development Lab, thanks to a collective effort sponsored by several labs and a Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia grant.
What's new in this version:

* Universalization

Build 46 will work natively both on PPC machines and on Intel machines (universal binary). We are not aware of any major issue with the universalized code, but the only way to find out is to run as many scripts as possible. So please report any problems you may find to us.
* Support for the ioLab USB Button Box Response Device

In Build 46, we entirely rewrote the code for the USB Button Box, as the code delivered by our previous programming company (Robosoft) ended up to be too poor to be usable. A software manual is also available, for download, in the BBox info page on our web site.
* Several Bug Fixes.
* Several new features with respect to the OS 9 version.

PsyScope X has several new or improved functions if compared to PsyScope for Os 9. Among them: support for a new Serial Out communication to pilot external devices, support for new variables types, support for AIFF Sounds, new movie commands, improved control of the NetStation ERP system, basic control of the TOBII eye tracker, continuous update of variables in data file, and possibility to construct paragraph events incrementally.
