Astro IIDC Publisher's Description:
"Astro IIDC" works with a wide variety of low and high end, color or monochrome, 8 or 16 bit FireWire 400 or FireWire 800 cameras. It has a simple intuitive interface, can record movies, grab frames, grab averaged frames, grab sums of frames, has extensive Altivec optimization for real time processing for flat field, dark frame, image alignment and stacking, supports movie recording as fast as 240 frames per second to disk or as long as 1 hour per frame. The application utilizes our industrial strength Altivec optimized IIDC/DCAM Version 2.0 Framework to control the camera and extracts the raw bayer or monochrome images from the CCD. "Astro IIDC" requires a PowerPC G3, G4 and G5 Desktop or Powerbook OR MacIntel with Rosetta emulation.

What's new in this version:

* Fixed an issue with noise reduction algorithm for stacking 8 bit movies which would arbitrarily alter the image.
* Fixed an issue with the Sharpness estimation for stacking 8 and 16 bit movies. There was timing issue where the thread for extracting frames could get out of synch with the processing thread, which would result in not all frames in a movie being analyzed..
* Fixed an issue where the resulting tiff file from an 8 bit monochrome stacked movie was always being saved as a 16 bit RGB48 tiff. It is now saved as a Mono 16 bit tiff..
* Added recognition of Point Grey Research's new Grasshopper series of 14 bit cameras, which now use Sony 2/3" EXHAD CCD's..
