22222 VLC works... sort of, but is this an improvement over version 0.6.2?

I must say, I am somewhat disappointed with VLC 0.8.0. The DVD playback in VLC 0.8.0 is especially lacking, in my opinion. After inserting a disk and choosing to "open disk," VLC 0.8.0 takes significantly longer than in version 0.6.2 (about twice as long). Also, changing the deinterlacing options while playing media results in an error every time, although the deinterlacing options appear to take effect. One benefit of VLC over some other DVD players is the smooth playback resulting from deinterlacing, although some resolution is sacrificed to accomplish this. Also to VLC's credit, the program is suited with a plethora of "preference" tweaks, including audio "channel mixers," "video filter modules," decoders, hot keys, and a variety of input and output options. The program is versatile in its ability to play many, MANY different file formats... it has played everything I've thrown at it. In conclusion, VLC WILL function. Period. And it serves a wide variety of media playing functions. The question is: how painlessly will VLC 0.8.0 fulfill its purpose as a media-playing tool? Try it out for yourself to see if you like it. As for me, I'm going to continue using VLC 0.6.2, a more stable and user-friendly program, in my opinion.
